Srinagar, Oct 17 (KNO): Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq, paid glowing tributes to Sheikh-ul-Alam Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA) on the occasion of his Urs, recalling his timeless message of Tawheed (oneness of Allah), compassion, simplicity, and service to humanity.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mirwaiz said that the revered saint, through his deep spiritual insight and poetic wisdom, brought Qur’anic guidance to the people in their own Kashmiri language, making the message of Islam accessible to all and nurturing a culture of God-consciousness, self-purification (islah-e-nafs), tolerance, and mutual respect among communities.
“Hazrat Nund Rishi (RA) taught us that dignity stems not from lineage but from righteousness; that true reformation begins with the purification of the self and is perfected through service to humanity,” Mirwaiz observed, adding that the saint’s immortal shrukh (verses) continue to illuminate Kashmiri hearts and homes to this day.
Mirwaiz further announced that, Insha’Allah, he will deliver a special sermon at Charar-e-Sharief on Friday, October 24, 2025, where he will reflect on Sheikh-ul-Alam’s universal teachings of unity, moral renewal, and their enduring relevance to contemporary society—(KNO)
